The point of Gang Beasts is nothing complicated. There are a few players cuddled up at the same location where they have to fight against each other and defeat their opponents by throwing them either into some dangerous zones or outside the arena. The number of users varies depending on the mode – if it’s a local match, the maximum number is found, while online matches can count up to eight participants. All of the fighters are the same in terms of strengths and abilities. They even look similar, although you can change their appearance with the help of various costumes and hats. However, it won’t affect their parameters, so it’s purely for variety’s sake.

Before you can actually focus on winning, you need some time to get the hang of the controls. While some actions are performed by pressing the buttons, others require to hold them down. You can hit the enemies with your hands and head. If your attack is successful, they will fall down unconscious, and then you can pick them up and throw out of the map. Just be careful not to follow them trying to do so!

Each match quickly turns into chaos where you can barely understand what’s happening. Everyone is running, jumping and hitting each other, here and there other players are losing consciousness and dragging each other around obviously intending to drop the breathless body somewhere… It’s not a rare thing when the character who was already falling from the edge of the arena suddenly wakes up and grabs onto the wall trying to climb back and then finds the person who knocked them out and knocks this guy out in response.

There are different maps to check out – each of them offers unique ways to deal with your enemies. On one map, you find yourself on the roof of the moving truck – to survive, you have to beware of the road signs. On the other, the action unfolds on a flying zeppelin which is easy to slip off.
